And why let those already trying to hijack Christianity have it without a fight? It makes me think about how The Episcopal Church used to be one of the top supplier of military chaplains. But we diminished our role over opposition to the Vietnam war. That led to a vacuum that was ultimately filled by right-wing Evangelicals. Why I put on the collar every day is I ask myself whether I still believe in the teachings of Jesus, despite whether churches actually follow them or not. The answer is and shall continue to be yes. So here I am, Lord.
